Recommendations for improvement of the working environment in IT department

INTRODUCTION

It is gratifying to observe that our managers has decided to give a budget for the improvement of the working environment in IT department. There are three main areas requiring urgent attention and funding.

COMPUTERS

First of these is the unacceptably old and slow computer equipment. There is an urgent need of new laptops, servers, printers, routers and switches. Old hardware leads to our slower, inefficient work and is bad seen by our clients and other people from the company.

TRAINING

Money might also be spend on outside trainings for IT specialists. New technologies are changing so fast that it is almost impossible for us to be up-to-date with everything we need to know about. External courses are essential. Oracle, Sybase and Solaris courses are needed immediately.

NEW WORKERS

Some of the budget should be devoted to employing two new database administrators with excellent experience in linux/unix environment. Now we do our best to meet client’s requirements but all IT workers are overworked. Doing overtimes is almost impossible because IT specialists are too tired.

Indeed, all of these measures will make our company a much better place for everyone, whether they are in IT, Financial or Sale Department.
